Since forming Benoit & Czarnecki Design/Construction, LLC, in
1998, Jim and John have evolved from their office in Jim’s basement
with one employee to a well-established company in a new office in Newtown
Square, PA, employing fulltime craftsmen, several company trucks, a full
tool crib, and a very strong portfolio. The company has maintained a
controlled growth from the start, with a heavy emphasis on infrastructure
and getting the correct procedures in place for the future. This emphasis
is indicative of the way Jim and John work. They are detail oriented
and do their best to ensure that nothing is overlooked. They have a foresight
uncommon in today’s remodelers and have designed and built a professional
company that delivers high quality craftsmanship and unparalleled service.
James
D. Benoit
Jim has been involved in construction since 1984 and brings his years of valuable
experience to Benoit & Czarnecki. Jim has a degree in Applied Sciences in
Construction Technology from Delaware County Community College, earning an Excellence
Award for Construction Technology and graduating with high honors. Jim has most
recently received the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)
designation of Certified Remodeler (CR), 2003. Nationally, there are only 900
CRs to date.
Early in Jim’s career he spent some time subcontracting to other general
contractors in the area. In 1986 became foreman at MYCO builders in Drexel Hill,
PA, where he was responsible for all phases of fieldwork from production and
scheduling to field estimates. Later he moved on and became a Lead Carpenter
with C. Raymond Davis and Sons, Inc., in Kimberton in 1988, where he led crews
of production carpenters, acquiring site and building layout skills with an emphasis
on large-scale residential developments, and became established as a Master Roof
Cutter. In 1989, Jim began working for a large Main Line construction company.
There he rose from foreman to superintendent to senior project manager in a mere
three years. His projects included smaller remodeling jobs, full-scale renovations
and additions, historic renovations, new home construction, and medical facilities.
John
Czarnecki
John has always been interested in design and construction. He studied architecture
at Carnegie-Mellon for two years before going on to the Rochester Institute of
Technology, where he earned a B.S. in Photography and Design.
His first construction experience came when he joined Ron Williams Consulting
and Construction, Inc., of Honeoye Falls, New York. There he became Assistant
to the President, learning and becoming proficient in the daily operations of
the construction business. John went on to use his architectural and design background
as a Draftsman in two successive companies, Schoenagel & Schoenagel, and
Pocotech, Inc., both of Greentown, PA. At the former he worked on water system
permit projects and subdivision drafting. At the second he was an architectural
designer/draftsman handling residential projects from conceptual design through
final construction documents.
In 1991, John joined the same well known Main Line construction firm as Jim.
John quickly became Chief Estimator and became involved in nearly every facet
of day-to-day operations; construction sales, estimating, purchasing, development
of bid proposals, clarifications, and cost schedules. |
