Residential Addition $100,000 to $250,000
2005 DelCY, DelChester NARI Contractor of the Year Winner
Benoit & Czarnecki Design/Construction, LLC designed this intricate two-story addition for the homeowners specifically to take advantage of the bucolic hillside views at the rear of the house and to increase the living and storage areas. The spacious kitchen and eating area is finished with hardwood floors, granite countertops, white cabinets with full-overlay doors, and commercial steel appliances. Through the kitchen to the rear of the addition is the den. With a coffered ceiling, gas fireplace, built-in cabinets, and many large windows we created a space to relax in style and comfort and take in the natural beauty of the property. The addition also includes a walk-in pantry, desk area, bar with wine refrigerator, a rear deck, and a large unfinished basement with a walk out entrance. The collaborative effort between the design team and the clients met the clientĚs needs and expectations. This close working relationship and desire to utilize the great natural settings helped us to design and develop a beautiful addition tied to its surroundings.

Residential Kitchen Over $100,000
2005 DelCY, DelChester NARI Contractor of the Year Honorable Mention
This Residential Kitchen Over $100,000, originally a dark place with dated cabinets and appliances has been transformed into a bright and elegant functioning work of art. The custom made cabinets are maple, painted white with a beaded detail, inset doors, and polished nickel ice chest latches and cup pulls. The main counter tops are carrera marble that tie the commercial stainless steel appliances to the white cabinets, and hand painted tile backsplash. The kitchen is centered around a large four foot by ten foot island that is complete with a “Shaw’s Original” fireclay apron front farm sink, that is set in the wide plank cherry countertop. The floors are restoration random width cherry planks that span into the eating area, which sits under six-by-six rough-cut exposed beams and the intricate lines of the vaulted ceiling. The eating area is well lit during the daylight hours by an entire wall of French doors, sidelights, and transoms that look to the rear gardens. By taking more time and a genuine interest in our client, we understand what they truly expect. Working closely with the clients, designers, and all parties involved not only “gets the job done”, but completes it to the fulfillment of all involved, most importantly the homeowners.

Residential Interior Over $100,000
2004 DelChester NARI Contractor of the Year Winner
This project involved an extensive interior renovation to our clients newly purchased home. The old mansion was originally owned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and was later converted to a single family home. The relief sculpture of a cross can still be seen on the limestone keystone over the front door. Many of the bedrooms and bathrooms had been neglected and were in dire need of a face-lift.

Entire House $250,000 to $500,000
2004 DelChester NARI Contractor of the Year Winner
This dramatic remodeling project transformed a modest and non-descript brick cape cod into a spacious French colonial. The homeowners loved the location and the one acre lot, but needed more living space from their house. In addition to the space they required, the ownerĚs wanted updated and advanced internal systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, security, etc.), a modern kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, and enhanced curb appeal. Coupled with the typical difficulties associated with a project of this magnitude, was the time constraints required by the homeowners.
