How do we start our project?
Once you’ve decided to renovate or remodel your home, give us a call. First, we set up a meeting at your house so you can show us exactly what areas are in need of improvement. We’ll share our thoughts and ideas and carefully note what is most important to you. We follow up with a detailed design proposal that outlines how we will compile the required design elements to produce “permit ready” drawings. During the design process, we keep you updated regarding the scope of work and budget.
How do we select our contractor?
These days, price is certainly a consideration. However, you will typically get what you pay for. Keep things in mind such as building permits, daily clean-up, working continuously at your home once the jobs starts, and timely completion. Ensure that any contractor you consider is licensed in the state of Pennsylvania (this is law), which ensures they have the proper insurances and will be reputable. An established, well-known company should also be there for you in the future and to service any possible warranty issue that may occur.
Can we build “green”?
Benoit & Czarnecki have been green before it became a buzzword. We do all we can to preserve our earth’s resources and respect others’ right to live in a clean, non-toxic environment.
Are there industry certifications I should look for?
Certifications demonstrate a serious commitment to excellence within the industry. Our staff has earned Certified Remodeler, Kitchen and Bath Remodeler and Lead Carpenter designations.
What is covered at the Kick-Off meeting?
This meeting occurs just before commencing construction to introduce you to the project manager. We discus the logistics of your project; How do we get in and lock up and which door should we use? Are there any alarms, pets, or children to consider? Where can we park, store material, store tools, put a dumpster, place a job sign?
Who is in charge of my project?
Every project has an assigned crew leader who is in charge of the project. He is on site daily and aside from actually constructing the project he is managing the subcontractors, materials, deliveries, inspections, and ensuring that the project is progressing as scheduled. He works closely with the homeowner and is always available to answer any questions.
How do you pronounce Benoit & Czarnecki?
Simply [ben-wah] and [zar-nek-ee]. However, we respond to just about anything close! Call or email us today to find out more ways we can help you with your project.
